FAQ
Is this the official Kumbh website?
No. This is an independent guide. For official notices, check the Nashik district administration and Maharashtra government.
When does the Kumbh start and end?
It begins with flag hoisting on 31 October 2026 and ends on 24 July 2028. The three main Amrit Snan days are 2 Aug, 31 Aug and 11-12 Sep 2027.
Why is it called Simhastha?
Because it is held when Jupiter is in Leo (Simha). Jupiter takes about 12 years to circle the zodiac, so the Kumbh returns to Nashik about every 12 years.
Do I need to come only on bathing days?
No. Pilgrims come throughout the Kumbh period. Ordinary days are less crowded and cheaper to stay.
How far is Trimbakeshwar from Nashik?
About 28-30 km, around an hour by road. Buses and taxis run all day.
How do I book a hotel?
Open the hotel on the Stay page. The links take you to Google, where you can see photos, reviews and live prices, and book with the hotel.
When is the next Amrit Snan?
The main Amrit Snan dates are 2 August, 31 August and 11–12 September 2027. Please confirm with the official administration, as schedules can be revised.
Where do I take the holy bath in Nashik?
In Nashik the main bathing ghat is Ramkund in Panchavati on the Godavari. In Trimbakeshwar, pilgrims bathe at Kushavarta Kund. Follow police and volunteer instructions on the ghats.
How many days do I need in Nashik and Trimbak?
Two days cover the main temples and ghats; three days let you add Trimbak, Pandavleni and a quieter afternoon. See our one-day and three-day itineraries in the Guides section.
Is Nashik safe for solo women and families?
Nashik is generally considered safe for pilgrims and families. During Kumbh, stay in well-reviewed places, keep to crowded and well-lit areas after dark, save emergency numbers 112 and 108 and follow official crowd advisories.
Do I need to book hotels in advance?
Yes. Rooms near Panchavati and Trimbak fill early and prices rise sharply around Amrit Snan dates. Book refundable rooms as soon as you fix your dates, and compare dharamshalas as a budget option.
Can I trust prices shown on this site?
We do not publish fixed prices because hotel and food rates change by season. Each listing links to Google where you can see live prices, photos and recent reviews.
